Manchester City Donate Surplus Food To Local Charities

Manchester City have donated surplus food to local charities after their Premier League fixtures against Arsenal and Burnley were postponed.

Elite football in Britain has been suspended until April 3, with City taking the opportunity to help the club’s local community.

As reported by City’s official website, the club, in conjunction with their food supplier F3, decided to donate all appropriate food due to be sold at the Arsenal game to two charities.

The two charities in question were The Longford Centre, which is a homeless prevention charity in Chorlton, and Open Kitchen Manchester, which takes food going to waste and uses it at conferences and events.

Meanwhile, the food due to be prepared for the Burnley game, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, has been shared between four local charities.

Home Community Cafe, Mellor County House, Mother Earth and Sale Methodist Church have all benefited from City’s generosity.

City have also made a donation to Brookdale View Care Home in Newton Heath.
