“My mother begged”- Lady shares what she inherited after father’s demise, recounts visit to lawyer’s office

A post by a Nigerian woman detailing her inheritance after her father’s passing  has gone viral online.

‎In a post on X, @Toniatuslim disclosed that at 20 she received a letter from her late father’s lawyer informing her she would inherit $80,000.‎

‎However, despite her mother’s plea, she eventually visited the lawyer’s office.
‎
‎Upon arrival, she met her father looking frail, while the lawyer handed her a few papers, which she signed.

‎”I met my father at the law office. He looked frail and happy to see me. The lawyer handed me a few papers, saying they were standard forms to finalize the transfer. I signed them”,She stated, recounting how the visit unfolded.‎

‎Lady Loses Father

Meanwhile, years after signing the documents, her father passed away.

However, lawyer revealed the truth about the documents she signed before his death.

According to the legal praticoner , the deceased’s daughter signed the documents as his legal guarantor for an $80,000 debt, which has increased to $210,000 due to accured intrest.

Furthermore, the lawyer emphasized that the debt fell to her, and she would be reached out via phone call.

“With interest, you now personally owe $210,000.  The responsibility now falls on you, you will receive a call in the morning”, The tweet reads.
