“My mum poured herself into church and the only reward she got was losing her life in a God forsaken marriage” – Young woman writes as she reveals church’s apathy after losing mum

A young woman has shared the letter her father wrote to their church after her mother’s de@th. 

The letter shows the widower informing the church of his 36-year-old wife’s de@th while inviting them to bury his wife. 

However, their daughter, who was aged 12 at the time of her mother’s passing, said the church refused to officiate her burial without seeing the original booklet showing that she paid tithe to them. 

The daughter, now an adult, wrote: “I was cleaning today when I found this in my mum’s stuff. 

“I remember my dad taking multiple trips to Gusau from the East because the church refused to bury my mum without seeing her tithe booklet. 

“It didn’t matter that he had a photocopy they wanted full evidence. 

“I was barely 12 and my youngest sister was 18 months old then yet nobody from that church till today checked up on us. 

“Even after my mum was buried and we were barred from attending the funeral it didn’t occur to anyone to point out the absence of her daughters. 

“I got to know where my mum was buried only last year. 

“It’s all in the past now but nothing will make me lose myself in the process of practicing any religion at all. 

“My mum literally poured herself into that church prayers meetings and church cleaning and everything she was at the forefront. 

“The only reward she got was losing her life in a God forsaken marriage.”
