Taking to his Twitter handle to share this opinion, Bashir wrote;

”It is a fact. Nigeria as a whole, and Northern Nigeria in particular need to create & implement citizen/family friendly policies to address our population bulge. Let’s look ourselves in the mirror & tell ourselves the truth. Abeg don’t insult my lineage. It just has to be said.”

A Nigerian man, Isa Danjuma who agreed with him, however, pointed out that it will affect the voting power of the North.
