SAD NEWS || 😔 💔
Despite arriving almost 24 hrs ago, Enyimba are still stuck in Morocco because of sudden change in plans by the home side (Al-Ittihad), and which CAF have not been helping matters.
The Back Story 📰
Al-Ittihad (Libyan side) changed the venue of their #CAFCC game to Tunisia (that has very stringent COVID 19 vaccination laws) on short notice.
Enyimba were asked to present their vaccination certificates upon arrival in Morocco before heading to Tunisia.
Enyimba couldn’t provide it; efforts to get some waiver via the Nigerian Embassy in Tunisia didn’t also work out. So, the team had to pass the night at the airport.
Meanwhile, Enyimba had secured Libyan visas before they got the info that the game would be played in Tunisia.
The Tunisian authorities agreed to grant them waivers, but they haven’t received it yet.
For a game scheduled to hold on Sunday, the team are still in Casablanca as at 9am this morning. What a shame!
