Pastor reveals what he did after N120 million was mistakenly sent to his accoun

A Nigerian pastor, Dr Gideon Isah, has shared how he returned N120 million that was mistakenly transferred into his bank account by a woman.

The Lokoja-based cleric narrated that the unexpected transaction occurred on a Sunday afternoon while he was away in Makurdi, Kogi State.

According to him, he immediately suspected that the huge amount was sent in error because he was not expecting any such payment.

Pastor Contacts Lawyer After Receiving N120m

Dr Isah explained that rather than keep the money, he contacted his lawyer for guidance on the appropriate action to take.

He said his lawyer advised him to return the funds to the same account from which the money was transferred, and he followed the advice.

Sender Reaches Out

The preacher revealed that the sender, a woman from Kano, contacted him the following day after visiting her bank to trace the transaction.

He said the woman pleaded for the money to be returned and provided her account details.

However, Dr Isah noticed that the account she provided was different from the one that originally sent the funds.

Following his lawyer’s advice, he insisted on refunding the money to the original account, which he eventually did.

Woman Offers Appreciation

After confirming that the money had been returned, the woman reportedly called Dr Isah to express her gratitude.

She also offered him a financial token as an appreciation for his honest, but he politely declined the offer.

Sharing the experience on Facebook, Dr Isah wrote:

“Someone mistakenly sent 120M into my account on Sunday afternoon while I was away in Makurdi.

I wasn’t expecting such an amount from anyone, so I knew it might be a mistake. Yesterday, Monday morning, a number called from Kano, and the woman said she was the one who had mistakenly sent the money.

She had to go to her bank before they generated my number for her. She pleaded with me to send the money back, and I asked for her account number.

She sent a Monie-point account number instead of the bank account she sent the money from.

I had actually informed my lawyer when I received the alert on Sunday, and he advised me to send the money back to the same account it was sent from, which I did yesterday.

She received the alert, called, and offered prayers. She asked to send a token of appreciation, which I humbly declined.

When unexpected money comes into your account, return it to the same account it came from for security reasons.
