Paul Gascoigne To Be Subject Of New Movie Covering His Life

England legend Paul Gascoigne has revealed a movie is currently being planned which will document the highs and lows of his life.

Gascoigne is widely regarded as one of England’s greatest ever players and his maverick persona resonated with fans across the world.

His later life has been blighted with addiction problems and ‘Gazza’ isn’t afraid of his demons being shown in the movie.

Speaking to The Mirror ahead of a new documentary, the former Tottenham Hotspur man revealed: “Let’s face it, I have nothing to hide. It has all been in the press, the good and bad.

“The documentary is out in November. The makers have spoken to me and my family.

“But there are backers looking at a film and trying to find someone to play me. I will guide them and read the script, it will be about my entire life. They will use my books.”

The new documentary will cover his iconic moments while representing the Three Lions, likely including his tears at Italia 90 and ‘dentist chair’ celebration at Euro 96.

His lows will also be examined including his addiction and mental health battles in addition to his public split from wife Sheryl in 1998.

The 53-year-old has been in the public eye for over three decades and when asked about the impact of fame, he replied: “It is all right becoming famous. It was incredible.

“Everywhere I went, everything was free. You would go to a restaurant, and it was expensive, but they gave you the meal for free. You don’t want to go back in case they think you are there to get something for free again.”

His playing career saw him star for Spurs before making a move to Serie A with Lazio prior to a stint with Rangers in Scotland.

The Gateshead native still receives support from fans across the country and he told Good Morning Britain while fighting back tears: “I love the public.

“They’re right behind me. It’s the lies that are hard.

“When you’re famous like the person I am, you’ve got to take the good with the bad.

“I accept some of the bad stuff I did.”
