The funeral ceremony of the late Hilda Adefarasin, mother of the General Overseer of House on the Rock church,  Paul Adefarasin, is ongoing.

Adefarasin shared a photo of himself and siblings on Instagram standing near their mum’s coffin and looking set for the funeral.

“For mummy,” he wrote, adding the image of a dove for emphasis.

Adefarasin’s wife Ifeanyi posted on Instagram a picture of Hilda lying in state. “Adieu Mummy,” she wrote, and also added a dove.

The service of songs and night of tributes was held at the Rock Cathedral in Lekki, Lagos on Thursday.

A nurse and women’s rights activist, Mrs Adefarasin (nee Petgrave) died on Sunday, January 5.

The former president of the National Council of Women Societies was aged 98.

She is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
