“Please help me… I’m in love with my late sister’s husband” — Lady seeks advice

A young woman has shared a deeply personal account of how her life changed following the death of her elder sister in February this year.

She described how the loss reshaped her responsibilities at home and led to an unexpected emotional bond with her late sister’s husband.

She said her sister was married for 11 years and had three children, adding that the family had been closely connected for years.

According to her, the situation became more complicated as she stepped in to care for the children after the funeral.

Family loss and growing responsibility at home

The woman explained that she had lived with her sister since her teenage years and was supported through university by her sister and brother-in-law. She also described her sister as a key pillar of the family.

“My sister was the second child of our parents and a breadwinner for our family,” she said.

She added that her sister’s husband was wealthy and supportive. “Her husband is incredibly rich and opened a big store for her in Abuja,” she noted.

Describing the sudden loss, she said: “Her death was a shock because she was ill briefly.”

She also reflected on the stability of the marriage, stating: “In their whole 11 years, they never had a case of infidelity.”

Emotional bond after the funeral

Following the burial, she said she remained at home to care for the children, while her elderly mother also moved in. She noted that the responsibility has been overwhelming.

“Although my mom has moved in with us, it’s not easy for me because she’s old,” she said.

She then revealed that her relationship with her late sister’s husband changed weeks after the funeral. “Three weeks after my sister’s death, her husband kissed me and we had a very hot romance but we didn’t have sex,” she disclosed.

She added that their bond has continued in an unclear direction. “We’ve kissed a couple of times and he has been very nice to me and we have grown fond of each other,” she said.

Uncertainty and emotional conflict

The woman expressed confusion about the relationship and fears about her future. She said the man shows affection but has not made commitments.

“It’s like we’re in a relationship but we haven’t made it official,” she said.

She also admitted developing strong feelings for him, but expressed insecurity as other women show interest in him. “He gets jealous when I talk to men or go out on dates,” she added.

However, she said she worries about stability and long-term commitment. “I don’t want to waste my 20s taking care of the home and his children… and at the end of the day, he won’t marry me,” she said.

Search for direction

She concluded by questioning how to proceed with the situation, insisting she cares deeply for the children and believes she is protecting her sister’s legacy.

“I know nobody will take care and love these children like I do,” she said.

She added emotionally: “Please, help me. How do I go about this?”
