A large section of Stoke fans have showered encomium on erstwhile Super Eagles skipper, John Obi Mikel for his classy display against Newcastle over the weekend.

The former Chelsea legend was regarded as a massive signing by the club faithful given his wealth of experience and pedigree that saw him won laurels with the club.He gave the club fans a slice of what to expect in Stoke City 1-0 over Newcastle over the weekend as he combined well with teammates at St James’ Park on Saturday.

And Stoke fans then took to their Facebook account to declare their love and admiration for the former Trabzonspor’s midfield enforcer and  equally believe the Nigerian will be massive in the club’s chase for honours in the Championship this season” He’s a player that plays in a crucial role. We have needed a ball winner that can pass a ball for a number of seasons.  Class never leaves just a player’s pace, Mikel has never relied on pace so his age won’t be a problem.
