The inclusion of students into RTEAN would give the old members a new orientation on appropriate and acceptable mannerisms, especially in the way dues are collected from motorists.

Some students of the Lagos State University have been inducted into The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria.

A statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the LASU-RTEAN chapel, Nurudeen Eniafe and Olalere Owoseni, respectively, said the union was made up of exceptionally sound students in various disciplines.

It added that the inclusion of students into RTEAN would give the old members a new orientation on appropriate and acceptable mannerisms, especially in the way dues are collected from motorists, The Punch reports.

The statement read,

“This is the first of its kind in the history of RTEAN and all transport unions. These young and intelligent students within the short space of their inauguration into office introduced new ideas of global best practice into the modus operandi of the union and have now become the object of emulation for all chapters in the nation.”

The students also appreciated the national chairman, RTEAN, Mr Musa Mohammed, for giving them the opportunity to serve.

“Mr Mohammed introduced innumerable innovative and relevant policies into the operations of the union across the nation by taking into cognisance the legalities of the actions and inactions of the union’s enforcement officers across the whole nation.

“The induction of LASU chapel of RTEAN is made up of exceptionally sound students in various disciplines. Also, the presence of these students into the union brought sanctity into the manner the daily dues are collected from motorists,” the statement read in part.
