Liverpool have seen their opening €100m bid for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande rejected, with Fabrizio Romano now informing them of the ‘magic number’ they need to reach to tempt the German club into a sale.
Liverpool’s pursuit of the 19-year-old sensation has been well-publicised in the early weeks of the summer, but the Reds are clearly working efficiently in private too.
It was announced on Wednesday night by Romano that they had reached an agreement to sign Osasuna winger Victor Munoz out of nowhere, with the Merseysiders activating his £34m release clause and hijacking Newcastle United’s move for the Spain international.
Liverpool aren’t done there as they look to further strengthen their attacking options, with club chiefs looking for their long-term successor to Mohamed Salah, following the Egyptian’s exit this summer.
The Reds are also looking at other areas of the pitch too, with interest in Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi in central midfield, while they could also add a new centre-back and right-back in the window.
Liverpool were linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven in the Dutch press on Thursday night, but GIVEMESPORT sources have played that rumour down.

Liverpool have seen their £87m offer for the Ivory Coast sensation rejected, with Leipzig demanding more for a winger who clearly has a huge future ahead of him in the game.
He announced himself on the world stage, after a stunning breakthrough campaign in Germany, with a man-of-the-match display in Ivory Coast’s 1-0 win against Ecuador in their opening 2026 World Cup group match.
Diomande terrorised the South American nation’s defence, and his ability to showcase his talents at the World Cup are one of the reasons Leipzig’s price tag is so high.
Romano has issued the latest on the situation, claiming that an offer nearer €120m (£104m), according to industry sources, will be required to see the Bundesliga side consider their options.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on Thursday night, Romano said:
“The player is very tempted by leaving the club now this summer without waiting one more season, even if they have Champions League football. So Yan Diomande is considering the possibility to leave immediately.
“Liverpool bid €100m package, not enough at the moment, sources in the industry, so it’s not directly from Leipzig, but sources in the industry believe €120m could be the price to try to get to a deal with RB Leipzig, so this could be the magic number to make things happen.”
