The ongoing All Progressives Congress Senate primary election for Delta North has sparked widespread reactions online after a video appeared to show former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa overwhelmingly defeating Ned Nwoko in a physical headcount of supporters.
In the viral footage circulating on social media, an official overseeing the primary process was seen counting party members and supporters physically standing behind the two contenders.
According to the figures announced during the exercise, Okowa reportedly secured the backing of 6,922 attendees, while Nwoko received support from just three people. The dramatic difference in support immediately triggered intense reactions online, with many users expressing surprise at the scale of the reported margin.
The APC primary for the Delta North senatorial ticket is still ongoing, and party officials are yet to issue a formal statement confirming the final outcome of the contest. Neither Okowa nor Nwoko has publicly reacted to the viral video as of the time of reporting.
