Sokoto residents clash with police in Sabon Birni following death of abducted Emir of Gobir after three weeks in captivity (video)

There is Chaos in Sabon Birni, Sokoto State, as residents riot over the m8rder of Alhaji Isa Bawa, the emir of Gobir in Gawata town of Sokoto state.

Bawa was abducted along with his son on his way to his native town of Sabon Birni near the border with Niger after attending a meeting in the regional capital Sokoto.

After three weeks in captivity and a video released to plead with the Nigerian government to help secure his release, Bawa died in captivity. 

Following his death, youths in Sabon Birni have taken to the streets to burn tyres to express their grievances. This led to a clash between them and police officers who tried to quell the riot.
