Unless of course, I’m on the runway modelling their pieces, I rarely pay attention to a lot of designers until Taibo Bacar. His designs and fashion artistry make my heart go into palpitations every time.

Taibo Bacar founded his label in 2008 and has been awarded multiple recognition, including Designer of the year at Mozambique Fashion Week and Emerging Designer of the year at Africa International Fashion Week.

He has also exhibited at Africa Fashion Week Joburg, Angola Fashion Week and was also the first African designer to showcase his work on one of the biggest fashion platforms in the world, Milan Fashion Week.

I admire his consistency, creativity and zeal to design pieces that would not only sell but be a part of where he comes from and what the word femininity stands for. Every designer has his/her aesthetics and I can say that Bacar’s is some what of a fantasy.

He’s use of extraordinary prints to create glamorous statement dresses and separates with lace appliques has set him high in the fashion industry. And those of you who don’t know him, you are welcome!
