Some members of a vigilante group in Yobe state launched an ambush against some suspected kidnappers, killing two.

Yobe police spokesperson, Dungus Abdulkarim who confirmed the incident said the suspects were killed on Sunday August 30.

It was gathered that the vigilante group launched a counter-attack against the suspected kidnappers after they (kidnappers) stormed Dungurum community in Murfa Kalam village, where they kidnapped one person.

While three of the suspects were killed, three others were apprehended and handed over to the Nigerian Army.

Abdulkarim Said;

“It was this morning (Sunday) we received information about an attack on a community under Murfa Kalam village where three suspected kidnappers were killed following an ambush by a vigilante group.

“Presently, the corpses have been deposited at a morgue in the Specialist Hospital in Damaturu while investigations are ongoing.”
