The businessman was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged money laundering.

Nigerians have stormed social media to react following the arrest and detention of popular billionaire businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu aka Obi Cubana. 

We had reported that the businessman was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged money laundering. 

He spent the night at EFCC’s office in Jabi, Abuja following his arrest yesterday. 

A source had disclosed to the Punch that he was being held on the grounds of alleged money laundering and tax fraud. 

The source said: “Obi Cubana was arrested and brought to the EFCC headquarters on Monday afternoon over allegations of money laundering and tax fraud. He is being grilled by detectives as we speak.”
