The Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria has revealed its displeasure for the formation of the Western Nigeria Security Outfit tagged “Operation Amotekun” describing it as a subtle effort to Christianise the region.
The group had during a press conference addressed by its Vice President, Sheikh Abdur’rasheed Hadiyatullah at the Correspondents’ chapel in Osogbo on Monday said Amotekun is a covert effort to create a Christian dominated state police.
According to the Hadiyatullah, Amotekun have a sinister motive which is at variance with true, genuine and real yawning of the public for a more secure environment.
“The Amotekun program is viewed as a subtle method of further Christianization of the Southwest by its promoters in their usual manner of having political and power dominance over the Muslims in the region.
“It is another elusive way of establishing a ‘Christian-dominated State Police Force whose alfairs would be designed and determined from the Church at the expense of the Muslims majority in the region”.

please and please we don’t need to turn issue of Amotekun to something else in this country, before you make any comments make sure your findings is correct Amotekun was organized by top Yoruba leaders like our king’s, governor’s and some political leaders both Christan and Muslim are among these people and the programme is meant for our security sefty in sauth west or are we just going to fold up our hands sitting down and continue watching to allow crime activities to be increased everyday,so am beginning all of us again if we want to make any comments let us go straight to the point we should not complete the issue security matter is quite different from religion matter when the program was lunch is there any religion leaders there both Muslim and Christan have no repisentative there and if you really sure of what you are saying proof your case beyond reasonable dahuth and I will continue to saying it that our problems in this country is three,1 political sentiment,2 Tribalism and 3 religion fanatics on till we resolve this issues i don’t know if peace, love, and unity we come to stay in this country but one thing I will not surport is if our political leaders abiuse it but for Christan to hide under it forget that beside that anyone who against Amotekun must be enemy of security in sauth west and more over am beginning our Muslim leaders most expecially in Yoruba land call this man professor Akintola and talk to him very well kosi bi a se le gba esin to tabi a ja fun to ita ara wa langbe a o ja fun Olorun,iyen ode ni ti a ba de oke oya ohun yiowu kii o pe ara re tabi ipo yi o wu ki o dimu ninu esin islamu kenferi ni won maa ka wa si ti ija ba de iku ni ere ese lodo tiwon ko si oju aanun nitorina awa omo Yoruba eje ka ronu ara wa, and let us remember that at up north there is lots of security outfits like e.g jtf,sharia police and many security outfits and when they are doing it no body criticize them for doing that but when our own case come up now lot of argument all over the country as if Amotekun will distarbelise nigaria as one, please let us know that this country is our own and finally let me say LONG LIFE CHRISTIANS, LONG LIFE MUSLIMS, LONG LIFE AMOTEKUN & other Security outfits LONG LIFE NIGERIA.
