Why I’m looking up to my father in raising all my kids – Davido

Afrobeat superstar Davido has stirred conversation online after opening up about his family background and describing his father as his biggest role model in life while praising his parenting style.

Speaking during a recent interview on Ndani.tv, the “Fall” crooner reflected on how his upbringing shaped him, especially the influence of his father, Adedeji Adeleke.

According to him, his father played a major role in the person he has become today, as well as how he is now raising his own children.

Davido revealed that, contrary to public perception, his late mother, Veronica Adeleke, only gave birth to him and his sister, Sharon Adeleke.

He added that he later learned his mother was not the biological mother of some of his other siblings.

The singer praised his father for maintaining unity in the family and raising all the children with love and balance despite the complexities of their blended family structure.

He noted that this experience has influenced how intentional he is about raising his own five children.

Davido, who is a father of five children with four different women, has his first daughter, Imade, with Sophia Momodu, while his second child, Hailey, with US-based Amanda

He also has twins with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, and another son with UK-based makeup artist Larissa London.

Sadly, Davido and Chioma, once experienced a devastating loss when their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke,who passed away in 2021.
